Sono rimasto piacevolmete sorpreso stamattina, quando la postina mi ha consegnato una lettera arrivata da lontano. Si tratta di una “cartolina” di buon Natale un po’ speciale, infatti giunge dalla valle di Nubra, una remota località himalayana nello stato del Kashmir, in India. 

Laggiù c’è un monastero buddista che ospita decine di bambini monaci che vivono e studiano accuditi dai monaci adulti. Nel 2007 abbiamo raggiunto quel monastero con il progetto umanitario Himalayan Aid e abbiamo consegnato numerose adozioni a distanza, oltre ad aiuti umanitari ed assistenza medica. Il maestro del monastero buddista Galden Tashi Chosling mi ha spedito gli auguri, raccontandomi anche che i piccoli novizi stanno bene. Ecco il testo della lettera (cito testualmente, erori inclusi):

Dear friend Museo Obrietan
   How are you doing? Here from the every one at the monastery school prays and hopes that you are at the pink of yourhealth and also leading a pleasant life with your family members and friends. Here every one from the monastery is very grateful to you the way you enclosed us into your pleasant memory end also making their lives easier and happier by far with your help. With your help children get good food, good clothes and many more, above all big smiles on their faces to indicate that they are grateful to you for your kind help. Here our children are happily spending their lives in the monastery and expecting fot the Losar to untold. Losar is a new year which is like Chrismas or Diwali, during which our children go to meet their parents afetr some ceremonial rite at the monastery, it is happy day for our children, meanwhile thay are at the hostel not having the regulare school sa they normally have in summer and other season because of the coldness, but they still don’t go to their homes but stay back at monastery remembering some religious texts and others at the hostel.
   We wholeheartedly greet you on the coming new year, hope from all at the monastery that the coming year will be titled with lots of happiness, health and success to you and your family members…

Sulla facciata posteriore della lettera c’è questo splendido disegno della bambina monaca Padma Tashi, di nove anni. Queste cose mi scaldano il cuore,e non posso che inoltrare questi auguri a tutti i genitori adottivi a distanza che hanno contribuito al nostro progetto umanitario. Buon Natale anche a Voi!
